Relationship requires effort. Relationship requires opportunity. Relationship is the result of an individual pouring effort into an opportunity. The greater the opportunity the less effort required to build a lasting relationship.
Buckets of Relationship
- Family Opportunity
- Spouse, children, parents, extended, etc…
- Religious Affiliations Opportunity
- Church, support groups, small groups, retreats, etc…
- Employment Opportunity
- Employees, professional affiliations, user groups, etc…
- Education Opportunity
- School, clubs, sports, PTA, etc…
- Neighborhood Opportunity
- Neighbors, corner market, mailman, etc…
- Recreational Activities Opportunity
- Health club, aerobics class, hobby clubs, etc…
- Retail & Consumer Opportunity
- Restaurant, regional shopping mall, grocery store, maintenance services, etc…
Example: No longer work with a fellow employee, we have all said, “Keep in touch”. How many of us actually do. They are no longer in a bucket of opportunity.
Your best friends will be those individuals that are in the greatest number of buckets of opportunity.
